Welcome to Jackson School

Jackson School is a collaborative learning community for all. We aim to develop independence through safety, respect and responsibility. We aspire to offer authentic, quality educational experiences that develop futures, create opportunities and inspire potential; enabling our students to be valued and contributing members of the wider community. We share and celebrate our successes and achievements.

Jackson School is a government special school for Prep to Year 12 students with a mild intellectual disability who are funded under the Department’s Program for Students with Disabilities (PSD). Our school accepts enrolments from across the cities of Brimbank and Melton, with a Designated Transport Area (DTA) servicing the following suburbs: Caroline Springs, Delahey, Hillside, Sydenham, Taylors Lakes, Keilor, Keilor Downs, Kealba, Deer Park, St Albans, Kings Park, St Albans South, Sunshine, Sunshine West and Ardeer. Please note: our school is moving to Disability Inclusion in 2024 which will replace the PSD. Our Designated Transport Area will also change in 2024 due to the opening of the new Dharra Specialist School (Mild to Profound) in Aintree.

Jackson School provides a leading, individualised learning program for students with additional needs proudly aligned to the Victorian Curriculum. The school caters for primary and secondary age students and accepts referrals from Kindergartens, Early Intervention Services, Primary Schools, Secondary Schools and other educational facilities from within government and independent sectors.

Jackson School is a child safe community. We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which our school is situated, the Wurundjeri (Woi Wurrung) peoples of the Kulin Nation, and pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging. Wominjeka!
